So I love this Forum it is great for PSU sports. But (and I know I shouldn't start sentences with But) This forum doesn't reach the same audience that Oregonlive does. Most casual Vik fans will not end up here. Some will I know it is only a few clicks away. Am I the only one here who thinks One big fucking dbag should own that other forum? I know it is easy to delete his comments here. But why doesn't everyone let him know that he is a dbag? If he heard it everyday he would be gone. I am almost at my century point on this forum and I know I am at the millennium point on Olive. Why dob't you guys step up and defend PSU on the forum everyone is going to see? Its not like our basketball team lost to the Pilots!

He shouldn't own it; I agree completely with you. But (see I'm doing it too), I disagree with you that he will leave if we all berate and insult him. We've all done it (except maybe Marty !!), we've all tried different approaches, for many years.... and it's only getting worse. He won't leave....he'll just revel in all the attention. Trust me, I enjoy insulting him.....but after a while you tire of it. Everyone's just given up and moved over here.

I can remember the forum before OFSB came along, and those times now seem a wonderful, distant memory. The only people who can fix that forum are OregonLive, and clearly they have no intention of doing anything. They've deleted a few posts, from time to time, but that's it. It's now SFOB's forum, and he's welcome to it.

Well now that football season is over things have simmered down as usual. During the season we have tons of traffic, we hit 1,000 members. It will take time as all sites do to gain high traffic. It took eGriz 5 years to reach the point they are at now.

As for the other site, I never go there any more, I've tried to get rid of OBSF but OL will never have of it. So I could care less about that board.

You LET the mallrat take over the forum by two methods...

(1) Not bringing your own topics to the table, thereby not trying to stretch the mallrat past its posting limit,

(2) Generally dwelling on the mallrat instead of on more important topics, of which there are MANY. This might include the negative... but I'm a believer that failure to address the negative is a larger negative.

It's just one mallrat.

(Mallrat, you ask? I have yet to see solid evidence that it ever set foot in Montana. It also seems to dwell on every champion that arises... hence the jokes I've made in the past about it buying Florida jerseys after national champions. Portland State needs people to figure out HOW IT WORKS IN PORTLAND, not Jamaican bobsledders counting out ein, zwei, drei, vier.)

My opinion is similar to Pounder's. I think you can easily fight with him, but I don't think it's been effective over time. I think ignoring him is a better option. I'm not advocating the current strategy of staying away, but that's all can be done for now. As long as people fight with him, the forum becomes useless. If we all pledge to only talk sports and other PSU topics, it's a great tool. Maybe we should set a date to all go back to start this revolution.
