Ole Miss post-game

Well....it could have been a whole lot worse than it was. NAU's offense did some good things. The defense was overmatched but didn't seem to quit and still came up with a stop or two.

38-14 was about what I expected. 38-20 would have looked nicer.

Chalk it up for what it was....a big financial help to the athletic department budget and be thankful there were no (hopefully) major injuries.

I've refrained from commenting on it leading up to the game but Coach Nutt's comment that he was unaware that Herrick was ever at the U of Mississippi reeks of stupidity, arrogance, gamesmanship or a combo of all. Coaches know who transfers in and out of their programs. I call B.S. on Coach Nutt. But it's water under the bridge now. Herrick's one pick was crummy and he was under duress the whole game but he threw for exactly two yards less than his former competition. U of Mississippi's loss is NAU's gain. Thanks for coming to Flagstaff, Michael.

Two weeks left and two big conference games left. No room for error if any chance at the playoffs is to occur. WSU on the road and EWU in Flagstaff. Should be an interesting last few weeks.

Go Jacks.

Considering Nutt wasn't our coach when Herrick left, it's certainly plausible that Nutt had no idea who Herrick was. Ed Orgeron was our head coach during Herrick's 2 seasons at Ole Miss.

I was under the impression that Nutt was there when Herrick transferred but I don't know all the details.

Thanks for the information.

I stand corrected.
