I agree, and said this should be done a long time ago when we first talked about Kramer's recruiting process. It took some time, but he finally realized that it was the best move, almost imperative.

I think he had to fix that little APR problem, first.

Yes, Kramer did a great job fixing the APR problems. He had to do that to save the program.

It is amazing how many JC players, step down players, and step up player entered the program during the off season since the APR problems are no longer a problem.

Can Coach Kramer recruit JC players without the JC players contacting him or does the JC players have to continue to contact him directly? It would appear that Coach Kramer was able to sign more transfer players this season so maybe the ISU policy has been revised since the APR problems are no longer a problem.

Regardless, the transfer players should be able to improve the program immediately this season.

The last I has heard on this was during the coaches show last year where Mike said the only players he'd consider from the JUCO / dropdown ranks are those who contacted him and had good grades. At the time he said there were some players interested in health science that had contacted him and were interested.

I don't know if these are the former JUCO linebackers and the dropdown transfer or not.

The first coaches show is the Wednesday before the season opener. I'll pass it along to Jerry to see if he'd ask Mike what the policy is now or if anything has changed.

I would think that Coach Kramer now has the flexibility to recruit and sign JC transfers if they meet the ISU academic requirements as the APR problems are no longer an issue.
