Eastern receivers >>> Oregon receivers.

Just sayin'

Really? Kupp yes. Not so sure about Bourne and the rest. Keep in mind every team has been lighting up Oregon's secondary. Washington is horrible on offense with a freshman QB.

Kupp definitely, Bourne and the others too.

Do you agree that the Huskies secondary was better last year? I think they're running the same defensive schemes, with a possible adjustment for Freeman, that would benefit the WR's.

If so, rewatch last years EWU UW game and grade the receivers on things like routes, back shoulder adjustments, drops, and down field blocking. For me EWU receivers looked significantly better.

It's not about whose rated better coming out of HS, it's about who plays better in college.

Huskies secondary improved, even without Peters. I'm not sure their front 6/7 have improved, largely because you don't instantly replace guys like Shelton, Shaq Thompson, and Kekaha.

Interesting thing to note, two of UW's defensive coaches are Eastern guys.

The thing that shocked me about UW last year when we played was that if you could stop their initial pass rush, their secondary would lose coverage within a couple of seconds. Whenever Vernon extended a play, one of the receivers would get lost in the zone and be wide open. In truth, both times we played UW that was the case.

Herbstreit is an A-1 Dbag most of the time, but his comments were pretty spot on.

Herbstreit was the only one to give Eastern props several years ago... then ESPN went all in "bizzzon". Speaking of which 4-2 with losses to Montana and South Dakota... yikes, the sky is falling in bizzzonland.

Petersen making a big mistake with the freshman... He isn't Kellen Moore. Going to cost UScrub the rest of the season. They will be lucky to get by Oregon St or WSU. Like their effort against USC on the defensive side of the ball.

Post game VA interview:

VA had some moments of brilliance in that game. Some of those long balls were dimes and he was looking a little like the old EWU VA out there. I just don't think he's 100% or anywhere near his potential not having had a lot of reps the past few weeks. The other thing is that he's just not going to post the same kind of numbers in Oregon's offense (sounds strange, huh?) Strange, but accurate. When you have Royce Freeman you're probably not going to throw 7 TD's and a million yards. Oregon doesn't take the same risks as our offense does because they generally don't need to because of that running game.

Yep. assuming Helfrich doesn't dick him, VA will get to play against Stanford, USC, Ariz St and Cal to finish his career. Not a bad resume builder if he beats 3 of those 4. Will make those games worth watching. Without VA, Oregon is a one dimensional team.
