Oregon State, Nevada, and other scheduling stuff

Does anyone know what Oregon State is paying out to Eastern for backing out of the season opener to play TCU? Also, does anyone know what the payout for playing Nevada will be?

I am trying to figure out if the program would have made more money by playing Oregon State as originally planned or if we are actually making out better this way.

Lastly, has anyone heard whether or not we will be playing CWU in Cheney or in Seattle? While I like the idea of playing on the West Side, with the new turf I almost feel as if the more true "home" games, the better. That, coupled with the fact that if we did play CWU in Seattle our first game on the red carpet would be against Montana, which is always a potential loss - makes me think we should play CWU at home.

We will be playing CWU in Seattle, as they are selling tickets and raffling off booth seats in the auction this weekend

I'm just guessing here but I'm sure Nevada doesn't pay anything close to what OSU was paying. Buyout plus whatever Nevada pays will still probably be short of what we would get at OSU. The upside is that Nevada is a very winable game...I like this scenrio.

Dunno how winnable that Nevada game is gunna be......they are returning that really good QB and some decent backs. Our defense will really have to show up in this one, or they will run wild all over the field from that pistol formation.

Last year they beat:

UNLV 63-28
Idaho 70-45
San Jose State 62-7
Fresno State 52-14
New Mexico State 63-20

Those are some ugly scores against some decent competition. I think we could make a game of it, but it's going to take a perfect game and some TO's to stop them.

Nevada is alot more win possible than OSU could've ever been ! We will put points up this year and alot of them ! Its true the Defense will have to step up , last year we just scored enough to win the big games ! The burden WILL be on the D this year !! GO EAGLES ! I like the match up with Nevada ! and yes it will take a huge effort to pull that one off !

Rumor was that ESPN payed EWU 250K for NOT playing OSU and re-scheduling the Nevada game. ESPN wanted OSU in another nationally televised game that same weekend. I could be wrong on the $$$$, but it was benificial to EWU not to play OSU financially per ESPN, then schedule the Nevada game. Once again, rumor only.

If the ESPN figures are correct, then I'd assume the University is looking at somewhere around a 350k pay-out between the canceled OSU game and the Nevada game. I can't see Nevada paying out anything over 100k for us to come play them, possibly not even that much. Either way, it's almost like getting paid to play 2 x FBS games and only having to play one. Win-win situation IMO.

I'd imagine it's more than 100K from Nevada. Regarding it being like getting paid for two FBS games for one... if it indeed is only 350k overall, it's less than what we normally get. Typically we rake $400k per FBS game. Then again, we're usually playing the likes of West Virginia, Cal, Oregon State, Texas Tech, etc.
