@ Oregon State

Big test today…it will be interesting to see how they handle a very tough opponent. A they hang in there? We’ll find out.
It is a big test, and just the first of many. These games may not look good on our win/loss record, but they are good preparation for the future. I like this approach. If you want to play at a higher level, you have to start playing at a higher level. You get better by being stretched to your limit and then surpassing those limits.

I was hoping for a better showing. They hung in for a half…but the youth and players who haven’t got their legs back showed. I still like this better than empty Ws that do nothing for readiness.

UVU will be a better measuring stick.

Well...that hurt. BUT, I agree. The experience should help in the long run. I didn't watch the game, but were the refs really that one-sided? At one point Weber had 8 Free throw to OSU's 30 freebies. Another positive...Weber had 80 shot attempts to OSU's 65.

The second half looked awful. WSU was whistled for some ticky tack fouls but for the most part OSU was aggressive and driving and the defenders were too slow and fouled a lot. Transition defense was bad, with players not getting back nearly quick enough. WSU's offense was so bad in the 2nd half with only 24 points and honestly looked more like the ineffective offense Duft used to run. It devolved into Lowe just dribbling all over the place, not running sets, and taking the first mediocre shot. Clearly OSU is a very good team. WSU is such a young team with very little game experience, especially playing together. Now the good: 9 steals and only 9 turnovers, 16 offensive rebounds. The first half was really pretty good despite not being able to make 3s.
