Both Idaho and BSU are proposing contract extensions for their men's basketball coaches. The state board will vote at its meeting later this week. BSU would raise Rice's base salary to $482,000 per year, while U of I would raise Verlin's base salary to a high of $337,000. There's one particularly interesting aspect to Rice's contract: if the Board approves, he and his staff would share in revenue generated by "guarantee games." The school gets the first $50 K plus expenses, then Rice and staff would share anything over that.
