Shocking how we managed to be life and death with that team... NAU pretty much walked over Weber last week, too. They're playing good ball right now. That game got somewhat close in the 4th quarter once NAU put their reserves in, but it was a whitewashing.
You look at our schedule, and we really don't have a single quality win among our 6. Montana State is fatally flawed with no defense. Cal Poly is tough, but never seem to win close ones. Hell, our best performance so far might have been our loss to Oregon in Eugene... at least we showed a complete effort in that one.
The Root Sports game on 11/14 is us v. Montana. I'm sure when Root Sports picked up that game, they figured they had the two best teams in the conference. Who would have guessed that the two best teams in the conference might be playing in Cedar City instead. How big does that PSU / Southern Utah game look now?

The funny thing is that I think Eastern might have the most talent in the conference. But we're gonna have to improve a LOT over the week to beat NAU. We've been blessed to win these close ones while playing awful... when the competition is Weber State and Northern Colorado, you can stink 'em out against that level of team. We aren't going to be able to play like that and beat some of the quality we play against for the rest of the year. Strangely, Montana on the road might be the easiest game of that group--- but they are always tough to beat in Missoula.

I understand the frustration, but c'mon guys! Good teams find a way to win no matter what and so far, that's what these boys have done in Big Sky play.
Next week, and the remaining schedule could ugly with performances like the last two weeks, but this team is not a pretender.
