Over 3 to 1 Turnover to Assists

Our starting PG has 17 turnovers and 5 assists. I believe that 6 of his 9 fouls have been offensive in the paint. I think teams are baiting him for that charge. His shot selection has not been great either. He is the one forcing up bad shots as the shot clock is expiring. In 3 games he has over a third of the turnovers he had all last season. How has his play suddenly gone so careless?

He's not a point guard! He's playing out of position and its impacting other parts of his game. I also saw that Hill's numbers dropped too. All of our starters except for Hill played over 30 minutes. Hajek didn't play much! We were beat up in the paint. We're not long enough to compete against the better teams. We are a team that doesn't really have a lot of flow on offense. Hoping for a better results against LSU!

Correct me if I am wrong but didnt Jeremy play the 1 most of the year last year cuz we all were saying how Richardson was not a 2?
Anyway Jeremy last year as a freshman had 69 assist to 48 turnovers and shot 44% from the field and 40% from deep. This year he is 38% from the field and shooting 29% from three :yikes: with 5 assists and 17 TO. So I know Senglin can play the 1 he is just being selfish! Its not that he makes bad passes, he just doesnt pass and gets caught trying to create his own shot.
And yes its only 3 games in but this is not a good trend to be on. Hopefully he and the team can just play like we know they can

I'm not sure you're comparing apples to apples, last year Senglin was playing with JR, Tres, and Berry. Hill/Hajek don't come close to helping Senglin out like Tres could. JR may have been the Freshman's biggest help defensively and Berry? Ya, I think Berry drew a little attention.

Don't get me wrong, the numbers are awful and Senglin doesn't seem to be playing smart or selfless but he had quite a bit more to work with last year. He also had Gittens who looked like he was ready explode this season but it isn't looking quite the same now. It's too bad Braxton isn't playing (and capable of playing) this season as a traditional C, like Tres. That would allow Bolomboy to work more like he was last year. I'm disappointed that Hill isn't bringing what I thought and hoped he was going to. I don't think all their struggles can be pinned on the 3-to-1 PG.

After following the stats last night I got a few eye openers. #1 why in the world did we let Royce Williams leave he is the big guard we could have used last night, he is a lockdown defender and last year when he played he hit big 3s each time. # 2 why doesn't Hill get up more shot or touch the ball in an offensive position more? The last 3 game including last night he started off 2 for 2 and then either we go away from him or he decides to back off. #3 we have got to figure out how to get production off the bench. Last year with Gittens,Hill, and Williams we got on any given night from 10 to 18 pts combined. Maybe Coach does need to look at putting Hajek in the starting 5 and either Gittens, Golden, or Hill and be the offensive spark off the bench.

I agree Jeremy did have more pieces to work with last year. I have been overly hard on him but it seems that he is thinking about number one and i think that is whats frustrating. We know he can hit his shot so lets hope he is the general today and leads the team

I like that thought and why not try some things like that now, when it doesn't matter. Maybe they could be ready with something that works better before January comes and games matter.
