Patten is tough. I never will forget when he got elbowed against Sac State and his eye socket was fractured. Everyone (myself included) thought he was done for the season, but look and behold two nights later against Northern Arizona he played with a face-mask covering most of his face. not only did he play, but he played hard. He scored in double figures, had several rebounds and hustle plays. . . The play I remember most though was the free throw he missed. It was during the stretch run and that game was very, very close. He was at the line. I don't remember if he made the first shot or whether it was the front end of a one & one. Anyway, he missed the free throw. It took a really soft bounce off the front rim. He then flew in from the free throw line beating everybody to the ball and immediately put it back up and scored a big basket over the NAU defender. That is one of the gutsiest plays I've ever seen in a basketball game. . . Later in the Big Sky Tournament Championship game, he did it again against those very same NAU Lumberjacks. . .Jesus will always be one of my favorite Wildcats.

It was actually against UNC at home, but everything else you said is true. :thumb:

Dont ever let the facts get in the way of a good story. But I agree that was one of the most amazing performances by a player ever.

This is a cool atricle and all but its only talking about a summer league. I find it sad that nobody ever mentions or keeps tabs on the players for weber STILL playing pro ball. The Dee Wills and the Kellen Mccoys and the Steve Panos's. Nobody ever posts about. Just a couple thought for all that bleed purple!
