I hope Coach Geving is looking for a phone number to connect with this young man. Would be a great transfer for the Viks:

SMU sophomore guard Paul McCoy has asked to be released from his basketball scholarship and is transferring, the school confirmed today. The move is a blow to the Mustangs, who will have major questions in the back court. Coach Matt Doherty had pointed to McCoy as a reason why SMU could expect to be improved next season, Doherty's fifth at SMU.
McCoy missed the final 10 games last season to a torn ACL, but his rehab was believed to be going well. He led SMU in scoring as a freshman with 13.4 points per game, though he struggled this season before the injury and averaged just 7.4 points. McCoy, from Portland, had considered transferring after his freshman season, but decided to return.
McCoy could not be immediately reached for comment.
"We appreciate all that he accomplished here and wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors," Doherty said in a statement.
