Waves Roll In As Men's Basketball Opens 2010-11 Season

I'm excited for Friday. Pepperdine wasn't exactly good last year, but they do return all five starters. The grade of the programs that we can bring into The Stott is pretty bad, so getting another WCC team in is good for us.

Great game tonight, glad the Viks come out on top with a Guede 3-pointer!!!!!

Waves' Season Opener Comes Down to Final Shot in 83-81 Loss

The Pepperdine men's basketball team's season opener came down to the final shot, but Portland State hit a three-pointer with five seconds left while the Waves missed at the buzzer, allowing the host Vikings to escape with an 83-81 win on Friday night.

So glad Viks won. Anybody's game. Guede looked cool-as-the-proverbial-cucumber. Looking forward to Phil Nelson forwarding with Tree and newcomer Chehalis. What talent is being amassed here. It is a healthy trend to see local talent want to play at Portland State.

Bad start to last night seeing Nelson in a walking boot and street clothes.

What a great game to watch last night.

Bad rebounding and overall defense in the first half. Good adjustments made at the half.

Keion Bell didn't make too many friends last night. His antics after that three pointer with about four to go in the first half earned him some attention by the crowd for the rest of the game.
