PGE Park, Lents, Paulson, etc. Debate

It seems like playing at least part of the season away from PGE is inevitable. I could see the athletics department using it as an excuse to pull another 2006 and schedule more FBS $$$ games. We only had four home games that year. This would be unfortunate since we might actually be good next season.

Unless JG starts winning, PGE Park will be hard for PSU to fill. We will probably have to screen off the end zone seats.

"In addition to the MLS team, the Portland State football team will use the reconfigured stadium for home games starting in the fall of 2011."

Helllllloooooo Hillsboro Stadium for next year. I was sort of holding onto this faint hope that we could play at 'home' during the renovation.

Gawd, that is a really bizarre blend of the new style into the old style. Not exactly aethetically pleasing but then again when has anything been done so in Portland.

At least PSU will have an improved place to play.

The Timbers season lasts into October at least. The stadium renovation wouldn't start until then so PSU would at least play part of the 2010 season in PGE.

(I hate Hillsboro Stadium.)

That's what I've been thinking. It seems like PSU would be able to play at least half of its home games in PGE if they wanted to do so. Besides, I've yet to hear an official word from PSU that they're going to Hillsboro, so I'm not sure why everyone is assuming the whole year will be played there.
