What the Pilots exposed in this game is what I feared about this season. Portland State is a very small team by division 1 standards in both height and weight down low. When Nuhu went down with a ankle injury in the game this weakness was really exposed. The only chance for a Viking's victory would have been for Portland State to be hot shooting the ball (which didn't happen). On the positive side, the team never gave up and it was a close game. Coach Peery and his assistants need to recruit some big bodies for the program to really take off! Also, this was by far the best Pilots team under Terry Porter, their program may have turned the corner and could be very competitive in the WCC this season and beyond. I would like to see Portland State and Portland play twice a year, but I've been told the University of Portland isn't on board with that...…..I think that's shortsighted on the Pilots side. Go Viks!!!
