Good example of the Pistol Offense with Hawaii v USC right now.

Mouse Davis is in Hawaii now. That was still the R&S, just with the RB lined up behind the QB. Exactly what he did at PSU.

The version of the Pistol we will be running involves running the ball.....a lot.

That looked more pistol than R&S to me. Yeah, they ran four receiver sets that were heavy in R&S routes, but the lack of a fullback and the downfield reads (prior to Moniz getting hurt) seemed less R&S to me.
