I missed the exhibition game, so this was my first view of the 2013-14 squad. Granted, this against a DIII program...
- Was that 45 total fouls tonight? Get freaking used to it with the new rules. Thank you NCAA.
- Cataldo has slimmed up, and his footwork has improved. He still needs to work on his high screens. I don't care if you have 10" and 100lbs on the guard that is coming across, step out and make that screen and put the guy on his ass. Additionally, he could really be productive with the ability of an outlet pass with his length. We have athletic runners, and a quick outlet could lead to high percentage scoring attempts.
- Douglas seems to be the real deal. Sort of has a Will Funn look to him when he brings the ball up the court. He also doesn't seem to slack on defense.
- At some point I want to see some Prosser&Cataldo minutes ala the Washington&Morrison from years past.
- Must have more Gengler. Must have more Gengler.
- Wiggins looked good. I mean our Wiggins, not KU's Wiggins.
- Richardson seemed to fit right in.
Ugly first half, but we were able to roll the second half, as we should have. I hope it's just that we were missing Moore, Winston, and Bamba, that we didn't absolutely demolish this team tonight. And by demolish, I mean Chalupas. This team is loaded with talented players. The success of the season will come down to the skill of the coaching staff.
