Poll: Would you want Boise St in the Big Sky?

I'd rather see Idaho as the 12th all-sports member.....but since that probably won't happen, then I'd take a loot at adding BSU for the olympic sports. They are in the geographical footprint of the old Big Sky Conference and we could renew some rivalries there.

That said, it was BSU (and Idaho) that screwed over the Big Sky in the first place with their FBS ambitions.

BSU will find a home for their Olympic sports either way, whether that's in the Big Sky or the California Bus League. I don't know what Idaho is going to do if the WAC folds. And if Air Force and Boise State leave the MWC, that means that any and all WAC schools will be jumping to take their place. Most likely MWC candidates are Utah State, and San Jose.

That leaves the WAC with Idaho, NMSU, and La Tech as football members.....plus Texas State in 2012 and UT-SA. If Utah State and San Jose go to the MWC, it makes more sense geographically for NMSU, La Tech, and those Texas schools to go to the Sun Belt. Seattle and Denver could go to either the Big Sky or Big West as they aren't football playing members.

That leaves Idaho isolated in terms of FBS football Conferences. If this scenario plays out, I wonder what their football options are going to be.........Big West or Big Sky for olympic sports and football somewhere else? Where? Big Sky for all sports? Drop football?

The next year or so if going to be really interesting.

This is Thompson's best chance to finally put the WAC out of its misery, and screw over Boise. We all know that the Bronco's don't deserve any loyalty. You get what you sow. Thomspon needs to convince C-USA or the Sun Belt to take NMSU and La Tech, and then take/add USU and SJSU to the MW, which will kill the WAC. We all know if the WAC loses 1 school, which it will, then it will be over. By the way, who cares about the new WAC members, they can go back to where they came from. Seattle will finally join the WCC where they belong. Feel bad for Denver, but...This plan would be a great way to "Stick" it to Boise.

The Final piece of the plan hinges on Idaho. Yes, for the Vandal fans and their great FBS tradition (two winning seasons in 16 years), it will be a prick in their pride, but a great way to make boise look stupid, since Boise's only real possibility for its Oly sports is the Sky. If Idaho comes back as a full-member it would be the Vandals best way to totally screw over that community college in Boise. Boise would be a member of the Big East (dying conference) but be forced to be independent in everything else. :lol:

After reading the insults being thrown at Weber, and the entire Big Sky for that matter, on the Vandal forum, I say screw both of them!! Idaho has a smaller stadium than Weber, worse facilities, and is in one of the crappiest little shit hole cities in America. What was their attendance average last year for football and basketball? What is it this year? I'm sure it isn't any better than any of the Sky's programs. In fact, I'm sure you couldn't tell if Idaho was in the FBS or FCS based on their attednance, their athletes, or facilites. I know their basketball attendance is beyond pathetic.

What the purpose of being FBS if you can't EVER compete for a National Title? I'll give it to Boise. At least they are trying to get into a position where they can possibly be considered for the BCS, wont happen, but at least they have a slight chance. Better than what it use to be. The only thing that will make FBS even is a playoff. Won't happen because of greed and the good ole boys network. Idaho is living in a fantasy world. FBS?? WTF?? They are FCS without the option of competing in the playoff. LIMBO is where Idaho is, along with the Sun Belt, MW, CUSA, MAC, and now the Big East.

ncaa FBS rule is you have to average 15,000. their field house holds 16,000 but their upgrade might have added a couple dozen more.

i have heard they have been able to be an fbs because of state legislature because of boise. boise had dragged them along to the big west and wac but finally had to part ways as idaho just was basically a joke at fbs level.

Isn't that comparable to Portland States attedanace, except the difference between the two programs is the size of their respective stadiums. PSU holds 2K and the Joke Vandals 7K. What an embarrassment!! Why would you want to play basketball in Moscow for 1K a game?
