Portland State Football 2007 Schedule

I am a PSU Alum now living in Texas, and frankly I am sick
icon_pale.gif
of hearing about how great and wonderful UT, A&M, Texas Tech and the other big name schools in the area are.

The last time the Viks played here was about three years ago when they played Stephen F. Austin. I would have gone to that game, but Nacadoches is about an 8-10 hour drive and I simply did not have the time.

When will PSU play another Texas college?

I am hoping that at some future date they could schedule Texas State, San Angelo State, or even A&M-Kingsville. There is talk of even starting a football program at UT-San Antonio (the plans they were tossing out about that was a story in itself). I would love to see the Vikings come and put a can of WHOOP**S on them if they do. /users/31/07/37/smiles/zzsmile2.gif

Here is a hoping and a praying.

To all of you who think SDSU is an easy win, watch out. That's all I'm going to say.

Seriously.....I don't think any Aztec fan thinks this game will be easy. On the other board I have predicted the Aztecs win by 7 points at the least and 10 at the most.

From the sounds of it (Tribune), we'll be trying to schedule Hawaii as much as possible.

I'm all for that. It is a nice game for fans and alumni to attend, and presents a decent chance at a win.

The buyout will be nice, dificult to beat a school that plays our game better then we do though

That's a point I hadn't considered. That would make it harder to win the game. There certainly wouldn't be any surprised on either side of the ball.

I want to play Fresno State soon, watched them play Hawaii last year, UH put 68 on them but to be honest with you, if they would have left the first team in, UH could have scored 100 on them, I think we could beat them.

We played them very tough in 2004.

They're a good opponent because they have a good coach, a loyal fan base, and west coast location. I would love to see PSU play them.

If we're going to play up, do we want to target a win and the payout is a nice addition? Or do we want to go after the payout and the win is a nice addition?

I'm not the AD but I'll take a win over any amount of money, we learned our lesson last year lets win and advance to the playoffs, not play California and Oregon lose both get good money and go home with no playoff birth, that one ate at me this past year

Lets play the botom half of the WAC and MWC, USU, Idaho, UNLV, and then play the best teams in the sun belt

now with JG as our coach expect alot of games more east of the rockys.

Yeah, the win is better than the money any day. The win also brings publicity, which is like getting tens of thousands of dollars in advertising money.

That's true also

JG mentioned in the honolulu advertiser today that he would play Hawaii in 07' under these conditions

June can't coach
Game is in Portland
Brennan can't play

I wish PSU could schedule some teams here in Texas, such as Texas State or some other FCS team in the state. I am not proposing they play teams like a Texas or even a team like Baylor (although they might have a chance against Baylor) or even a drop to play D-II teams like Angelo State or A&M-Kingsville. I know travel costs are always the bugaboo, but the exposure the Viks get could very well outweigh the costs.

But the main reason I want it is because /users/31/07/37/smiles/psu-glo2.gif I MISS MY VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!! /users/31/07/37/smiles/psu-glo2.gif
