Man this one hurts. No progress on the problems that have plagued us all year: protecting the QB and scoring TDs when in the red-zone. Not to mention the million turnovers we made. I think the only thing that could salvage this season now is a victory over Montana.
Yet again we fail in dropping the knockout blow on a team that we have on the ropes.
We get the ball with 4:26 to go in the 2nd quarter up 13-0 and give up two sacks as part of a three and out, ISU uses this to go down and get a field goal and change momnetum going into the half.
Same deal as NAU, PSU up 14-0 and we are about to get the ball back but a flag comes out against the defense to keep the NAU drive alive and get them back in the game.
Same deal as UCD at home where we are up 17-3 and give up a late TD in the first half to get UCD back in the game prior to halftime.
Seems to me that a pattern is starting to develop.
Two fumble returns back to back are sort of a freak thing, but nine sacks allowed is not. This loss goes to the coaching staff for allowing a pretty bad defense to make our protection look like a joke.
