Did I hear correctly on the radio that this was the biggest crowd for a McNeese game other than a playoff game?

In the ancient past when we were I-A in the 70's, we had some huge crowds. In 1976 in the year we went to the our first Independence Bowl game, we had our all time record crowd in a game against USL (now ULL). The attendance was 27,500 for that game. People were covering the endzone hills and people were literally hanging from the light poles.
