I wouldn't say I know Phil well enough to make any character judgments about him.

Isn't it funny that we keep getting these kinds of people from other areas who feel compelled to talk trash? It kinda shows you the respect people have for others; in other words, we get that Phil Nelson has gained weight. I don't think it's necessary to make a character judgment on the entire team from one player. That just shows ignorance.

Acutally I have said nothing but good things regarding PSU baskeball (minus Portly Phil). The team plays hard and does thier talking by playing good fundamental Basketball. Tapscott and Odom are great hard-nosed players. I wish we had them on our team. It will be a good game in Portland. Good luck (except for Phil).

Maybe Portly Phil hustles and plays in a respectable manner in the Stott warehouse, but I have seen him play a few games in Missoula, and his reputation has gotten worse. Like I said before, even the pep band was harassing him. Not for his belly, but from the way he has carried himself in the past. He walks around like he was too good to play with the PSU team. Sorry, but when there is only one guy walking through drills and plays lazy, he kind of singled himself out.

As a Griz fan, I was not impressed with what I saw of Phil Nelson. I'm sure he is out of shape from his injury, but that's no excuse for doing nothing but jacking up horrid 30-footers with a hand in his face. He was 0/5 from the field & 0/4 from the arc (none of them close) & he did nothing to help the Viking cause at all.

I was shocked that Geving kept him in as long as he did.

Don't know the reason, maybe because it is his last year. Some of us got on him to gain some weight, but maybe he's better off skinny.
