Football Team Seeks First Big Sky Win In Missoula

This would be huge for the program if we can pull it off, but I just don't see us doing it. We almost had Montana last year, but then we came back and got blown out by EWU in our next home game. If we have momentum, we have a chance; if not, our hopes of winning are almost nonexistant.

I thought about going to Montana, but decided the gas was just too expensive. Oh well. Hoping we pull off a miracle!

Sagarin ratings: Montana #12, PSU #45.

That 2007 game in Missoula was brutal. So close to pulling it out.....

I'm just hoping for a good showing....

I was thinking about that game too. Saturday will be interesting. Montana has turned it around since the Sac State loss. The 30-0 win at Idaho State was impressive. Hope we can put forth our best effort. If we can then maybe we'll make it interesting.

Incredible! They TARGETED McCaffrey , and apparently the BSC made the call to refs as to the outcome they wanted to see!

I'd like to say that they targeted him to cost us, but not having seen the tape, all I can say is that Cory going out was obviously going to kill us. I'm not pointing fingers, though; football is rough. Just hope he's OK.

Perhaps we should have used Hubel on that last drive, because CK can't pass . . .

EDIT: I think Cory went out with several minutes left in the game. Can't remember exactly when, though.

I'm usually one that tries not to use the officials as an excuse, but I'm done with that approach.

We will never, ever, get a fair shake in the big sky conference. There were two PI/holding calls on our secondary that the pro-UM broadcast crew couldn't even believe. The one on Shead turned a 4th down for UM into a TD. I guess we did get away with one on that non-call for holding on our fake punt that got a TD.

Ryan Rau better get defensive player of the week. He was a beast out there today.

I couldn't see what happened on the play on tv. Rewound it many times and couldnt get a good look, but looked as though it was just a routine play, nothing out of the ordinary. Flags were thrown while Cory was out of tv view. Someone on oregonlive is saying that it was intentional - a cheap shot after he was already injured. It was strange that a great player goes down with a big injury and the tv guys don't try to see how it happened.

Anyone know for sure how Cory was injured? I sure hope it was just regular play, no dirty play involved.

I didn't see it at the game, but you could kinda see it on the TV during the live shot. He lined up in the slot & ran a flat pattern. As he got to the sideline, he turned around, watched the pick by Houston Roots, and promptly went down to the ground in excruciating pain. From what I could see, there was no one near him (from either team).

The brief shot of McCaffrey on the sidelines it looked like it could've been a hamstring injury. The writeup on goviks says this:
Then, star running back Cory McCaffrey went down with a left leg injury in the fourth quarter that will have him on the shelf indefinitely.

Thanks for the link. Horrible to see McCaffrey injured, but feels better knowing it wasn't a cheap shot by Montana. Watching on tv, when a personal foul is called that you can't see on screen and they flash to Cory laying on the ground in pain, I can see how people assumed the two were related. Good to hear that they weren't.
