Who cares? We've been reading headlines like this for three years. And the bottom line has always been "Our mistakes are killing us."

For me, this season is over. I don't care if anyone calls me a fair-weather fan. I'm a season ticket holder and I will be, but I will not show up for any more games until something fundamentally changes. I have only one Saturday a week, and I will not waste it watching frustrating football. I'm sorry for the AD because they really seem committed to making PSU football more popular. But without a few Ws, this is not going to happen any time soon.

Thank God I'm also attending Washington State - at least one good football team I can root for. Oh wait...

DISTURBING TRENDS: Portland State has lost three straight Big Sky Conference games and six of the last seven. The Vikings are 1-4 for the first time since 1997, and 0-3 in the Big Sky Conference for the first time since 1996 - the first year as a league member... the Vikings have also lost eight straight road games and five straight Big Sky road games.

Had to miss listening to the game today.

3-3 FG's with a 50 yarder in the snow? Amazing.

Good to see that Duyndam is back after the sprain last week. Sounds like picks were a problem, but UNC's pass defense ain't too shabby.

Good to get a win. Good to get a road win. Heck, good to beat a division 1 football program. :-)

We had 18 first downs to their 9, and controlled the ball 51 minutes to their 21. Talk about lop-sided! Our defense did a spectacular job. It all came down to two mistakes - one interception, and one breakdown on passing defense. Without those, UNC is dead in the water. Glanville's right; the team did vey very well. With 18 degree weather it's amazing that any passes were caught at all. Having said that - we have a competent pocket passer who can't run to save his life, and a running quarterback who's only average at passing. That's a problem that's liable to plague us the rest of the season. Thank God we've got Brown and Duyndam as kickers.

Does this game signal a full time switch to a dual QB lineup, or was CK's playing time only due to the conditions in Colorado?

Right you are.

What about putting them both on the field at the same time?

Maybe sort of a hybrid wildcat where it's two QBs rather than two RBs. Put Hubel in motion and get him the ball on the true pass plays. Run CK under center for those QB counter plays where the handoff is faked or done as part of a zone read. Of course you can't just fire this up in the 6th week of the season, but it sure would be nice to find a way to pull the upside of each of them out at the same time.

That would seem to be an obvious move to me. However, this coaching staff hasn't shown that level of innovation. But the latest news with Hubel out due to a dislocated knee means Kavanaugh will start. This is CK's shot. He'll need to prove himself now.
