Screw it.....we know we are going to lose, but who cares.

PSU - 45
UO - 44

Nobody should be putting too much stock in this game. We could lose this game by 70 and I still think we are going to have a solid 2010 season.

UO - 836
PSU - 16

I have seen our D. I have seen their O.

Agreed.

Oregon 45 - PSU 13.

Since Brown can make field goals from the parking lot, I think they will at least get on the board a couple of times that way. And maybe one touchdown from CK.

I'm also hoping for a big let down of energy from the Ducks this week after playing in front of 100,000 people.

The Ducks can name the score. I suspect it won't be 72-0 since the Ducks will go to their bench earlier than they did for New Mexico. I hope we can get some quality football out of our guys.

I'll go with 68 - 10, Oregon.

If we can return home with a paycheck and zero injuries, it will be a good day. We came out of the ASU game healthy, so I hope that we can do the same on Saturday.

Oregon keeps moving up the polls by winning big. Anything under a 50 point margin they move down. So here's to earning our big payout!

We'll slow their running, but they'll pass us to death. I have more confidence in our offense, and think we'll put up a couple touchdowns. I'll go with 48-17.

The goal of this game will be to use the entire play-clock on every single play hah. Sucks that PSU has to play this game..but I understand the money is too good to pass. Hope PSU has a few good drives on offense and eats up the clock, keeps the score down.

The scorn of a Reedie is a marvelous thing. But never mind. Welcome, Reedie!

We'll be paid enough to fund a half-dozen scholarships.

Portland State's opportunity is to gain press in which the score differential can better that of either or both of Oregon's first two opponents. Duck faithful are talking about the first stringers getting in some statistics in the first half (30-0 H) and then allowing the second- and third-stringers to play out the remainder of the game (e.g., 51-17 F). Those the Ducks will surely school PSU, the Viks do have the opportunity to learn through experience some great things from a Top-Five competitor.

Go Viks! Make it an enriching opportunity.

How much is PSU getting paid for this game?
66-3 (the FG will come against UO's walk-ons).

Doubtless PSU will bring home a bagful of money for this game. I agree with you in that I believe the Ducks will permit alleviation of a shut-out. We have Zach ("da man") Brown, Connor ("Count 'em") Kavanaugh and his multiform play-calling and some good interception potential in DeShawn ("take 'em to the wood") Shead and the ("blue diamond") Almond brothers.

I would love to see PSU score in the lower double-digits (10 or 13) and the Ducks be merciful in schooling the Vikings, all for the betterment of Oregon.

OU? UO? And what are those numbers? If we had the 25 million dollars a year for athletics that U of O has instead of our paltry 8 we'd no doubt play even. It's all about financing disparities. And, of course, 85 scholarships vs. 63. It's like tackling an elephant. A great circus act. No doubt throngs will come out to see the circus clowns bleed. Thanks for the money, UO. We'll have two weeks to lick our wounds and get ready for what really counts - conference play.

Elephant 66, Circus Clowns 3

Hope for no injuries on either side, a good payday for the Vikings, and a big enough blowout to ensure Oregon doesn't slide in the polls. Have fun in Eugene and a safe drive, guys.

I actually root for PSU. The program isn't on the level of either of the two in-state Pac 10 schools, but I believe that it's a program on the rise.

Money isn't everything. Arkansas pumps more money into their football program than UO, but is a poor school academically. They also play in what most perceive to be a stronger conference. UO has improved quite a bit academically over the past 10 years or so. Of course, Oregon also has fantastic facilities, an excellent stadium, and Eugene is a nice college town.

PSU has a long ways to go and I think it starts with academics. The open admissions policy needs to end. PSU needs to start attracting higher quality students and it needs to focus on improving upon its retention rate. Once you produce higher caliber graduates, the higher their income levels will be, and the more the school will receive in the way of donations. Portland State should be trying to emulate the University of Houston; a commuter city school that has improved academically by leaps and bounds and has also seen an increase in the quality of its athletic programs. Boise State on the other hand, is a terrible example set forth by a university. Boise St. has community college-level academics and has reduced spending from the educational side and poured the money into their football program.
