With Moevao, McCants, and potentially multiple receivers out, perhaps the Vikings can key in on the Rodgers boys and limit them to less than 250 yards. If so, the prognosis would seem pretty positive.

The Viks are going to have to pull out all the stops to even keep it respectable. Washington State didn't have any weapons or talent at all last season and they still slaughtered us. :x

I meant to imply positive in regards to the 24 point spread I predicted. I'm not inclined to predict any miracles. All notes on the team seem positive aside from wideout, and that would be the one position I expect to be fine regardless. Having a bunch of fresh bodies in the front 7 may also be a positive compared to last year's squad.

Canzano give us a 10% chance to win. Goe, not as on board.

So what will be the pass/run ratio this year? What was it last year? My sense is that we passed about 90% of the time last year, or that about 90% of our total offense came from passing. Is that accurate?

Now that we have the media guides online, it looks like:

745 total plays
559 passes
186 rushes
41 sacks given up

Since the sacks end without a pass, that should go under a rush, so that puts it at:

745 total plays
600 passes
145 rushes

So about 80.5% of the time we passed. Given that the little shovel pass we do a couple times per game is sort of a run in my eyes, but goes in the books as a pass, I think when it's all said and done it's right around 75%. I think that was Mouse's target ratio.

Good point about the shovel passes. To me, one of the biggest indicators of sucess will be McClintock's total yards and total TDs. If those numbers are high, PSU should be winning. Whether he accumulates those numbers with rushes or shovel passes will matter not.

I don't think you should lay it all on McClintock. We have several runners this year who look fairly promising and will see the ball. I suspect that if we run more, the running will be spread out. We'll just have to see.

Wheaton will dress. He's not practiced since August 24th.
