Were those Pac 10 officials?

I wasn't trying to say that they had an impact on the game like the Oklahoma game that was given to you. I was just asking where the crew was from for this non-conference game.

That game wasn't given to me really. Some people have suggested that the officiating crew gave that game to the Ducks, but this is the first time anyone has suggested that game was given to me. I didn't think I deserved the W exclusively since I didn't suit up and play Plus, it's a team game.

As for this last non-conference "game" at Autzen and for every other non-conference game played in a Pac-10 stadium (excluding bowl games), the officiating crew was a Pac-10 crew. This is clearly beneficial to the Pac-10, as it is extremely difficult to convince officials from other conferences to "give" games to Pac-10 teams.

You sum up the typical Duck fan nowadays.

I find it a little moronic to characterize an entire fan base using just one person's commentary. As a case in point, I have not characterized all Portland State fans as idiots even though you have posted something that could best be described as "horse tranquilizer-inspired."

Read more carefully.

He said typical Duck fan...which does not refer to the entire Duck fan base, since there obviously exist non-typical Duck fans.

You know them, the classy Duck fans who don't register on a competitors message board, just to revel in the other team's loss... 2 days after the game.

Very good! Fair enough. You will agree that his use of the word "typical" implies he is commenting about the majority of Ducks fans. I apologize for my word choice. Your catching that was extremely astute!

It is unfortunately true that most Ducks fans still don't know that the Vikings are from Portland State and thus do not know where to find their message board, even after that valiant effort this weekend. Before you judge my level of character, you should know that I had an obligation to register and post on this board. I am actually doing this out of my own generosity, as explained below:

Someone on this board actually predicted that the UO-PSU matchup would be a close game! Unbelievable! I think I saw one prediction showing UO 32 - PSU 24!! At first, I thought that person was joking. I don't think that particular projected score even indicated enough intelligence to qualify as being merely delusional. It was truly beyond that. Maybe that person came out of the Oregon public schools system and is typically "less than well-prepared" to make educated guesses. I'm not sure. Whatever the case, I came here to combat that sort of erroneous thinking and remind the intellectually ill-equipped among us that it is acceptable (and normal) to put some measure of thought into our projections. It is my responsibility to do this sort of thing.

Not sure eh? Well here's one thing you can be sure about. The University of Oregon is part of the same "Oregon public schools system" that you so readily dismiss. So what? You like dissing your own school too?

Eh doesn't matter anyhow...you're probably aren't a UO student or alum, just one of those fans with the large "O" sticker on your rear windsheild, but never sniffed the inside of a college classroom. But thats a good thing...for you. It makes it much easier to jump off the bandwagon and cheer for a different ESPN featured team. Have fun

I'm in a unique position, professionally and intellectually, that allows me to do just that. I've taught and taken classes alongside many products of Oregon's public schools. In both cases, I found those individuals to be "less than well-prepared." Note that I did not say, "stupid," or ,"unable." You're also slightly off the mark here, but I don't have a mountain of available time with which to correct you.

Oh, how wrong you are! Happy Halloween, champ! :mrt:

Yeah right.

Hey I heard there's a clearance sale on Duck license plate frames down at the Duck Shop...it would look great with all the other fresh Duck gear that I'm sure you collect and proudly show off.
