Portland State predictions

PSU is playing pretty good football, offensively, thier defense is suspect. I think this game is gonna be yet another crazy game between these two teams, and this time I think Portland State gets the win, We are unable to make 2nd half adjustments, and Im not sure we can stop Portland State.

In a Shootout Vikings win

The magic of Mac continues and the Cat's send Coach out with a win. 34-28, PSU misses a field goal or the score would be 34-31...

If I understand correctly, and correct me if I'm wrong, I believe that Portland State needs this win to reach the playoffs. If they win the Big Sky will have 3 teams in the playoffs. So I think it will be a tough fight. But I think PSU is gonna end up winning this game.
PSU 42
WSU 35

Edit: Now knowing that PSU isn't going to the playoffs no matter the outcome of this game, I pick Weber in a close battle.
WSU 35
PSU 31

With a win PSU would still only have 6 D1 wins (they played and beat 2 lower division teams) and a team usually needs 7 to make the playoffs. So even with a win, it's a long shot that PSU gets into the playoffs.

I think if (if being the key word) PSU beats us, I think the Vikings deserve a playoff spot regardless of the 2 lower division wins. They almost beat both UM and MSU, 2 teams that creamed us

Agreed. But unfortunately, the FCS playoff voting panel doesn't see it that way. But as far as the game goes, WSU has had a very difficult time containing mobile quarterbacks, so shutting down Kavanaugh will be tough. However, PSU is very one-dimensional and rarely passes. If the Wildcats can gameplan for the Vikings' style and at least slow down Kavanaugh a little bit, the offense should be able to put up enough points for the win. Always easier said than done, though... Any word on Mo Neal or Tyson Tiatia's injury status?

With Portland state leading the Conference in rushing and 2nd in total offense I think this game is in the defense's hands. We pretty much can say we are last in total defense with Weber only being ahead of ISU and UNC. If our d-line shows up we should win this game. Hopefully the d-line shows up, and the rest of the defense

As of Sunday afternoon, Mo Neal was still in the hospital. His playing days (obviously) are over. He does have feeling in all of his extremities. He will recover and should be just fine.

if there was any a time for the D line, actually the Front-7 to show up, this is the game. it is mind boggling to watch some of our DT's get double and triple teamed, and theoretically this should 'free' someone else up to make a play, but it doesn't materialize. the D line will come out firing on all cylinders to bring this one home for Coach Mac.....one snap and clear :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

A couple of weeks ago, I didn't think that the Cats had a chance in this one, but now, I'm feeling a bit more confident. Last week PSU should have lost, due to an erroneous call that preserved a Viking victory, to UNC. They didn't move the ball effectively, nor did they do a good job of defending against the worst team in the Sky. UNC has gotten better as the year has moved forward and might be able to scratch out some wins next year (didn't I say that UNC would shot for the goose egg?), but lets be honest here, its still UNC. Frankly, this post isn't about UNC, but PSU. PSU has a lot of weeknesses that Weber needs to exploit. Keep Tuckett running the ball (should have been running it all season and Barrington should have been redshirted, but hindsight is 20/20) and let Hoke throw the ball. PSU can't deal with our balance especially if it isn't predictable (Hammer please amaze me). Finally, this is Macs last game. Gotta get a W for the old coach in his final game. Oh, on defense, force the vikings to pass, and the Cats should limit their game. That is what UNC did and the did a good job of it too.
