Portland State @ Sacramento State Thread

This team has now lost to both Davis and Sac St. Two teams that we used to own. I don't like the direction this program is taking. I am not happy with either offense or defense. I was hoping for a lot more from both offense and defense teams. Will we win any games this year? Sac St. got beat at home by Weber St.

I hear you. I'm a proud season ticket holder but I'm not even looking forward to the game this weekend.

I'll be at every game regardless. I am just very concerned.

I was looking at the national stats leaders. PSU is 1st in passing offense and Eastern Wash is 3rd in the nation. But out of 118 teams, PSU is 110th in passing defense and Eastern is 118th - dead last! The teams are 116th and 115th in total defense in the nation as well.

Is this reason to think that we can get the run and shoot going a little this week? I see that EW is ranked in the national polls, which makes me think that their defense is better than their stats show.

The offense's biggest problem was discussed in Jim Beseda's piece today:

"Our biggest inconsistency has been on third down," said Tyler Coleman, pointing to the fact the Vikings have converted a conference-low 29.6 percent (16 of 54) on third down. "That in turn hurts the defense, because it keeps them out on the field longer than they should be out there."

I do expect a high scoring game this week. A replay of the NAU game last year wouldn't suprise me.

It's very likely that it's going to rain, and I think that will avoid a big offensive shootout.

When was the last time (other than the spring game) that it rained for a home game?
