Portland State @ TCU

Too bad this isn't on television. I'd have given up both the SOU and NAU broadcasts for the TCU game to be broadcast. Oh well.

It's probably going to get ugly early. TCU is still a pretty good football team, even though they did lose QB Andy Dalton to the NFL.

Sounds like Griffin will be back for TCU from this Burton interview.

I'd like to see he and Richards get quite a bit of the touches to avoid McCaffrey taking a bunch of hits. Need him fresh for ISU.

Final Score: TCU 55, PSU 13

Not suprised by the outcome here, but at least we had a lead at one point. Had Cory been playing, and CK had seen more action, we maybe could have put up 20 today. Hopefully we can use any momentum coming off this game to beat Idaho State next week in Pocatello.

Major positive from the game: No huge injuries that I know of! (No repeat of that Cal game from a few years ago)

It's crazy that losing that badly, and I still feel positive about it. I think playing TCU to a tie for 28 minutes, without McCaffrey, has to be a confidence boost going into Big Sky play. Nice to get Shaq some success and build some confidence, against such a tough opponent.

I'm in the same boat as you. I feel that we showed a ton in the first half, minus the last two minutes. We moved the ball (sans McCaffrey) and held their offense at bay. If you can hold your own for a half with a top 20 FBS program, you're probably a solid FCS program. The play up games get ugly due to the huge gap between the ability of the 2's & 3's on the roster.

If we can erase our past troubles of playing in Holt Arena and get out of there with a win next weekend, I'm confident in saying that Burton has turned this ship in the right direction.
