This could be the last chance at a W this year. I think EWU might be a shot, but the others will not. I personally think Portland State gets their first win 38-28.

If Weber State was serious about athletics, they would drop Mental if Weber State lost this game and let Jaime Martin run the rest of the season on interim basis…but we all know Weber State isn’t serious about athletics and will let Mental plunge the program into the gopher’s basement before he is finished and then Crompton will hire an assistant from the staff most likely. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Just have to input FWIW, during my heyday at WSC (then) it came down to the Wildcat Club finally having enough of losing football & a complacent (?) AD, so they stormed into the Pres. & pleaded (perhaps demanded?) that the AD be reassigned & a new HC hired. It worked for maybe several reasons. But now days it seems that the administration at WSU isn't concerned all that much about winning & attractive team sports results..."just enough" will do!!🤬

The above FWIW post is a repeat, sorry for the annoyance to anyone. I feel like a whiner, I know that the coaches are trying, the desire to win is there for all, the challenges in the college sports scene are intense now days. It just seems there's a PR problem with WSU athletics in that it feels like a don't care, no desire in marketing, repeated inside promotions with no fresh energy, drive. It's keep the present going & expecting different results. I really hope that things improve (proving me wrong)!

The recent past & present time in Wildcat men's major sports is not a good, exciting look. No matter what, it's going to take a longer than wanted time to turn things around. Dare I say, this is not a great time to be a Wildcat fan, at least for this fan. I'll try to shut up now because I know that even though those in charge probably don't read this forum, they have to notice the "funk" that is shown in attendance, season ticket sales, lackluster interest in general.😠

Honestly, it is just tough to find anything positive right now. I know the coaches want to succeed and I hate the state of NCAA right now with NIL. I really have a tough time cheering for prima donnas that transfer when they haven’t had everything handed to them on a platter or think they can do better and leave. I would just recruit a bunch of overlooked local talent that cares more compared to this transfer portal stuff and ride with the results…it couldn’t be worse in my opinion, and I’d take less talented players with something to prove than paper talent that doesn’t show up on game day. The receiver dancing on the sidelines after a catch taunting Butler was awful.

There is no marketing or promotion period. My brother was a season ticket holder for over 15 years and wasn’t even contacted about renewing his tickets. I got the Weber State App and found $5 off on Light the W night…but I had to seek it out.

They need to shake out of this funk…but I think it’s going to take fresh blood…or maybe bring Bovee back. He has a much better track record than Crompton.
