The good thing is you guys should win this game.....we played our worst game of the year against Portland and lost by 8....I think you guys should win by at least 10.....

The only way WSU wins this game, is if Rahe somehow finds himself in the hospital. With Rahe coaching, I have lost confidence in any OOC games.. 8-43 is pretty awful in 10 years... Thats less than one road OOC game a year won..... :yikes: :yikes:

I've wondered a lot if this is a 2-1 like the Y contract. Play a "neutral" game and then have them visited Ogden next year with us heading back to Portland in two years. Who knows. I'm curious as to why we don't get another game at this "classic." Portland, Oregon State, CS Fullerton, Tulsa, and Weber are all taking part in this. Seems to me that whoever is putting this together couldn't get another team to show up or they didn't want to pay for the Moda for 3 days. It is just weird...Portland, Oregon State, and Fullerton are getting two games. Tulsa and Weber are only getting one. I would have loved to have played either Tulsa or Fullerton on a neutral court. Oh well...it is what it is.

Sadly I don't have much home for WSU going into this game. I fear that WSU will be 3-7 against D1 teams going into conference play. WSU is playing 2 on 5 on offense and the defense isn't any better. WSU currently has a lot of guys that play hard but most of them couldn't throw it in the damn ocean if they were standing in a boat. If you only shoot 20% from 3, perhaps you should drive to the basket more. I'm no doctor but I do know that if something aint working you should probably change it up some. :twocents:

I would bet my SS check that there will be some changes in this game. Changes in the starting lineup and changes in the rotation. I expect that shooters will be shooting and drivers driving. There will be a renewed emphasis on covering the outside shooters and not falling asleep defensively. Guys will cover or they won't play.

You heard it here.

I don't know if we will win or not, but we will darn sure get after it.

Great... only it will be the same 8 guys just rotating in a different order.

And we won't see a substitution until the 14:30 mark, like every game. Then at 12:30... and so on ad nauseum because Rahe might change his rotation but it will still be the same 8 players -- with maybe a two minute stint by Williams thrown in during the first half.

Rahe is an admitted creature of habit. He might think he's making BIG changes. My bet is it is mere lineup tweaking. And Oldrunner, I want to be wrong. Oh how I want to be wrong. But Rahe is an old dog who doesn't seem to want to learn any new tricks.

You would be incorrect about that, UP. Although, we might not be playing any more than 9 guys. That part is continuing to be a sore spot for many of us. In sports, weapons are only weapons if they are used. If depth is one of our strengths, why not use it? :wall:

Didn't we already revamp the line up once this season? I don't think it is our starting line up. Do we have anyone that can play tough perimeter defense? How about not abandoning the zone after it has helped you get back into the game. Especially when the team isn't sending anyone in to rebound. I would rather we revamp the coaching line-up. Let's start with an assistant that can't develop big men and go from there.

We need to win this game to get another D1 win under our belt. South Dakota State may be one of the best teams to come to the Dee Center.

I will be looking to see what players step up. I know what to expect from Bolomboy and Senglin, but the rest of the team has been inconsistent since winning the tournament. Hill has been playing well of late too but if we are going to put some wins together it will take the whole team.
I still have high hopes for the season but we really need to pick this one up. No excuses, just win.

Who should be pulled from the starting lineup? If they get pulled, does that mean they are now suddenly exiled to the end of the bench? I really hope not. I don't understand not playing with an expanded rotation; especially with all of the talent on the bench. Coach knows his team far better than me and knows who is ready to go and who isn't. No matter, it makes no sense not to play a guy who was a starter and the when he gets pulled he doesn't see the floor again. If a guy does get pulled, I still think it would be wise to play him and keep him in the rotation. That way, he could increase his confidence and get the necessary experience needed to improve his game. When our guys are hitting their shots and playing well within the system our team is hard to beat. Look at the Gulf Coast Classic. If not...well...we get games like the UVU and Denver games.

Luck has absolutely nothing to do with the 'Cats record this year. Preparation and in-game coaching does however.

Tal, are you sure that coach knows which guys are ready to play better than you do. Remember, he started Ryan Richardson for the first three games this year and then sat him on the bench with "0" minutes since then. If he knows who is ready to play, and who isn't, then why did he start a player who wasn't ready to be a starter?

It is unbelievable that Rahe would start two players (freshman & sophomore) who are new to the team and who have only average talent over three players (two juniors & a sophomore) who have tons of time with the team, greater athletic skills and significantly more game minutes than the two starters. I am pretty sure that Rahe is quite as savvy and knowing his team as you might think. And by the way, two of those benched starters have outplayed the new starters when they have been given minutes. Ridiculously stupid decisions by "coach"!

I disagree. Richardson looked horrible the first two games of the season. His defense was bad and he gave very little effort. I like Gittens coming off the bench.

I don't think it is luck either. We look really confused on offense late in games. I want to know what is on those dam flash cards. Shouldn't they be helping our offense.
