Position changes in store

Uh, huh...

The Patin move doesn't suprise me. He had at least two drops against UC Davis.

The other moves, well, I don't know what to think about that. Tyler would be a huge loss on the defensive side of the ball.

Im pretty sure that Casey might just be over there on Goaline but I serioiusly doubt he will not start at nose or go both ways.

I hope that they can convert Howell but I have heard that he is not to Keen on the Idea, he wants to play defense. So if the coach forces him to switch I hope he sucks it up and puts his heart into it. The team needs it badly.

More changes.

Carvalho to right guard and Rios to center.

Looks like Lucas is working on the o line now as well.

Carvalho next to Heerspink will give us at least one solid side that White can scramble to without getting bent over! i would think that those two could own the right side of the line pretty well.

Those are the positions they are both more comfortable at anyway. Why were the moved in the first place?

Carvahalo was probably moved because he is the best O-Line player we have, and there was a vacancy at center. Why not have your best O-Line player be the captain and general of the O-Line. Makes sense to me, but it seems that it wasn't working out as we would have hoped. I would've thought he would have been moved to the left side to help strengthen that side.

All I want this week is for us to score a TD from the redzone. If we lose, but the O-Line plays well, that's all that matters to me.

That's a good quesion. If you have a pre-season All American at a position, you should keep him at that position. We had a move with Duff in the past that was a success. I guess it's one of those deals where if you make a change and it works out, it's genius. If you make a change and it doesn't work out, we're asking why in the heck we made the change in the first place.

I just hope the offensive line guys watch tape, listen to Mouse, and get better. If we can get any sort of decent blocking going, the FB can block the blitz that's been getting thrown at us, and the R/S will be off to the races!

I agree with you about keeping Carvalho at his original guard position. In fact, Rios played some center against McNeese State. So he knows that position. I believe that when you must gain yardage on the ground, you run your best back behind your best offensive lineman. In PSU's case, the best side of the line will be Carvalho and Heerspink. So I think you can look for that. If it's the right side of the line I think it will help White as well. Rolling to his right and throwing is easier than rolling left. I hope as well that Howell considers the team before his own personal preference. He has the talent. Most interesting is Mark Lucas (D-end, 6'3', 235) going to the offensive line. He might provide line speed on sweeps if he plays. He can block linebackers for sure.

As for the game, I think it will be a lot like the game in Sacramento last year. Sac State had a strong defense, and I hear they are fairly strong this year. PSU's defense will have to match their effort. 17-10 PSU.
