Positives/Bright Spots

Since we are all (reasonably) pretty upset with the first 2 weeks, lets take a few seconds and find some bright spots.

For one: Mitch Fettig has been all over the field, I've been really amazed at his athleticism and fight.

That's all I have.

Positives:
1) Likely, the two toughest games are done and played.
2) We all knew 0-2 was likely, even if BB was still the coach.
3) Both games were non-conference and all conference goals are still reachable.
4) The conference looks pretty wide open.
5) We all know the talent is there to be at least playoff eligible.

As bad as the first two games looked, we all said 2-2 is what we needed to be after the first 4 weeks. Obviously a loss this week, makes things a lot worse. I'll withhold judgment until then.

We're 3/3 in the field goal department and have made all two of our XPs. Jordan Dascalo is punting pretty well!

Big Sky has looked awful thus far, with just about every team catching a beating at some point. The gap between the Big Sky and MVC has never been greater. If we can't do well in this conference, this year, that's a horror story.

And, to repeat, 0-2 against this ugly schedule isn't the end of the World. The important thing will be getting it turned around on Saturday before the season is lost. Much like our opponent last week, they played super soft last week to prepare for us. While we played Texas Tech, NDSU was clobbering Mississippi Valley. While we played NDSU, Fordham was playing Central Connecticut (they barely won!). And while we travel to Fordham, our next opponent will be warming up with a home game against Savannah State. We don't make it easy on these guys.

Still I think we have the talent to be good IF we can get some momentum. Fordham is a big drop from where we've been playing, so this is our only shot to turn it around.

That is a huge fact, Fordham is pretty bad this year...if we can't get it going in the Bronx i'd argue the season is over.

The very earliest the season will be over is 11/18. :ohno:
