Possible Coaches

Putting together a quick list of possible options. This list goes from those who might actually be interested to dream options.

Andrew May -- A great younger coach, who has taken Snow College to levels never really experienced. He has local recruiting expertise and develops players according to scheme. He is good at X's and O's.
Cody Fueger -- If Kentucky takes an early exit, he might be looking for a job. There aren't many DI HC jobs. Taking a pay cut to come to Weber to be a HC in Utah, might be what he is looking for.
Tj Benson -- I know he played here, but other than being a former athlete of Randy's, I wouldn't put him in his tree, per se. It would be interesting to see what he could accomplish here.
Ben Howland --Uh, if he wants the job...GIVE IT TO HIM. He is a coaching legend and played on the BEST Weber State teams. Great way to end his career, building Weber State back into the Big Sky Champion juggernaut it once was.
Kerry Rupp -- Heard he wants to come back. Not sure this is the place.
Jeff Linder -- Good coach, but would he be interested?
Steve Smiley -- Would he leave UNCO. He should have been retained as the Associate HC at Weber—definitely a better coach than Duft.
DeMarlo Slocum --Better options on the list.
Ryan Cuff -- Great local coach, but this jump might be too big.
Craig Smith -- Was great at USU. Not so much at Utah
Tommy Connor -- Westminster legend. Knows Utah and is a winner.
Andy Hill -- Tommy Connor 2.0.
Amorrow Morgan -- Don't know if I want an ISU guy. Hell of a great player.
Bobby Hurley -- VERY Interesting.
Eric Daniels -- NO.

That's a good list, Tal. I'm sure that there will be names on the official list that none of us have heard of. I would eliminate any coach who does not have at least a 65% winning rate, at a minimum of the JC level. The program, facilities, and potential are just too great to accept anything less. Like I said before, if you don't find the right guy in this go around, just promote one of our assistants as interim and extend the search out over the next year. There should not be a rush to get this done. We will be losing enough players that it will be a complete rebuild anyway you look at it.
