Possible QB Transfer?

Is it possible that Collins may be getting an old recruit to come join him at UNC? Brandon Bridges was recruited by Collins at Alcorn State and now looking for a new team. One can only think that Collins will be one of his many phone calls. This could be disasterous for Lobato! He just never got a grasp of the new offense. Although Brandon would have to "red shirt" a year, he would be available in 2013 when Lobato is a Senior. There is no way this kid would transfer to UNC to sit behind Lobato and then only play one year. So we will have to see what transpires with this kid. If he chooses UNC then it's bye-bye Mr. Lobato!!

Another DO situation on our hands!

Let's hope not. Lobato is the guy for now. This kid from Alcorn couldn't put up those numbers in the Big Sky and I doubt he would want to sit out a year. He should go play D2.

If the coach and the QB think he's good enough to play, and he's willing to play one year, why not encourage it?

It only makes Seth better to have competition, and if the Brandon is talented and maybe just didn't give with his old school, he's got a year on the scout team to improve everything and a year to impress us.

If he doesn't want to play D2, then I imagine the Bears are looking appealing to him.

Wonder what the whole story is?

Brandon Bridge dismissed from Alcorn State:

Brandon Bridge Future at Alcorn State uncertain

Sounds like he was cut, because he didn't put up the same numbers as previous year. I guess if he has the ability (and he has to, if he did well one season) and wants to give UNC a shot, I'd welcome him. The redshirt/transfer year could be a good one for a qb to focus on technique and get his groove back.

0-11 teams should be open to taking anyone they can get, it's not like we're overflowing with talent and any depth is good to have.

Exactly, upgrade talent anywhere we can.

on a different note, I found this:

13. Hervé Tonye-Tonye, LB – Northern Colorado: Tonye spent the first three years of his college career at Alcorn State, where he led the team in tackles in 2010. The chiseled 6'1", 225 lbs. native of Montreal, is also an outstanding student and should become eligible to play for the Bears later this season, upon receipt of his electro-mechanical engineering degree from Alcorn State.

You should know that...Tonye's college teammate and brother, Raymond, is a running back and is also eligible for the 2012 CFL Draft.

search for "herve" at this link:

appears to be a pretty good linebacker (from Canada...) that played at Alcorn; sounds like only 1 year of eligibility left, though..

just more information....

Brandon Bridge is one of several quarterback transfers whose name has come up for Mississippi State.
But maybe he's looking at his options.

The fans here (link to forum: http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/p/30471955/Attn-State-fans.aspx) were pretty impressed with Bridge.

Here's a youtube of his long touchdown run against MSU in Oct this year:

Former Alcorn State quarterback Brandon Bridge, who recorded a 78-yard touchdown run against MSU in 2010, is also gaining some attention as a potential transfer.
