Possible transfer?

I kind of doubt Coach B is in the market for a drop-down qb. We've got three guys that I could easily see as productive starters. West and Hennessy got some great experience this year and all three will only get better over the off season and Spring/Fall ball. I think that position group deserves a bit of slack. If you were expecting VA 2.0 to grace the field after just dropping a clipboard, your expectations might be a little off. Nichols is a prime example of what I'm talking about.

I agree with FE. I'd prefer to get a couple drop downs to help on defense on the the oline. I think our QB situation is fine with Hennessey.

Agree with the above, unless we find a perfect QB, this is not our primary need for transfers. We need DL and safeties first and foremost and a ready-made OL would be nice as well.

Competition is good. I'm fine with bringing in a transfer. I completely trust Baldwin's ability to judge if he has the right QB already on the roster.

We could also use a homerun type rb.

Yes, indeed. I think Wilson is a good back, but he's more of a grinder. Frankly, I'd like to find a guy we could count on taking 30 carries a game if need be-- that 6'0" 210lb type do-it-all back. We've had those in the past, but haven't seen one in a long time. However, I'd be happy with a 1-2 punch if we could make that happen.

If we were limited to wishing for one particular area of need it would be O-line for me. Without holes and protection no skill players are going to reach their potential, with a good O-line even average skill players look pretty damn good.

Great point. I'm just thinking we had a pretty damned good line this year but not enough explosiveness to make big plays in the run game.

We were blessed with Taiwan and Quincy the past few years...tough to replace those guys...

True. And as Dopa has mentioned, the lack of a deep threat the second half of the season, also hurt the run game.

I just posted to see what people thought. I also don't think we need to be looking for a transfer QB - I think the guys we have coming back are more than capable. I do think we need to sign a quality HS QB this winter, though.

Should be a very competitive position in Spring Ball, but I hope we name a starter coming out of that and not continue the 2-3 headed monster into the fall.
