Night games in Missoula are tough but I think Eags win it and both the offense and defense look good...
Remembering back to the championship year, JC Sherritt and Tyler Jolley were the "rocks" of that defense. Those guys were TOUGH, maybe not the biggest or fastest but very tough. Sometimes we focus on size and speed but overlook the intangibles like toughness and football sense.LDopaPDX said:marceagfan5 said:Griz are starting a freshman in his first start...Eastern was able to get the O rolling last week and our young skill position players took some needed snaps.

I sure hope you're right.
The question mark on our team for me is whether or not we have the requisite toughness that a great team requires. I think the skill and size are there. My biggest concern is we sort of fell apart in the second half of the Texas Tech and NDSU games. It almost seems like we quit and were resigned to losing.
Couple that with the number of guys missing time. This could be just a confluence of tough circumstances. It might be bad luck. But sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire. Our mettle will be tested is Missoula,so we need to rise to it and fight all game long. If we do that, I think we'll be happy with the outcome. If we don't, we certainly won't be happy at the end of the game.

My biggest disappointment in the TT and NDSU games was the "fold your tent" appearance. Does this team lack the toughness factor necessary to be a great team? Today may be a good test of that.tomq04 said:DefendtheRed said:This team has had a lot of problems turning the ball over and until that changes we aren't going to win a lot of games. Montana is not NDSU or TT. No way do we lose by more than 10.
I think there are 3 reasonable options.
1. Montana is exposed and we win running away
2. We win by < 10
3. We lose by < 10
I don't see us getting blown out like in 2015 or like 2 weeks ago...they aren't that good.

Good luck Eags
EWU- 63
UM- 27
Given the struggles in the first half, it could have been Seattle Bobcat's day with Eags putting 60 on the board. As it was, Jensen was pretty good and we didn't take care of the ball too well early. Great effort on both sides of the ball show that the Eags have the horses to make a run through the BigSky; time will tell. Great win today against our hated rival.EWURanger said:Golden Eagle: EWU 35-17
