PREDICTION THREAD SAC ST 31 @ EWU 52

Haven't watched a second of Sac State this season. Sears has them playing tough and they are certainly one of the surprise teams in the BigSky.

What did the Montana game teach us about our Eastern Eagles?
1) We have a lot of talent
2) GG needs to get lathered up to calm down
3) Discipline is still an issue with untimely penalties (is it getting better? see good thread on topic)
4) Running game?
5) WR depth finally showed up at Montana and it was a thing of beauty
6) Defense is actually pretty good, especially with Nzuzi at corner
7) Team didn't fold the tent at half time and came out ANGRY, played for each other
8) Let's come out angry to begin with and stomp Sac St in the first half

Fully expect the Eags to win against Sac St. Keep control of ball, no TO's and reduce penalties still needs to happen in order to win. Turn it over 3 or more times and it could be a long day for the Eags.

Offense continues to roll. Defense and special teams account for two scores. Home crowd is fired up. Sac State, albeit a surprisingly impressive team, gets caught in a buzz saw in this one.

Believe it or not, I felt better about this game last week. Sac State obviously has some talent and appears to be following our example of starting the season rotten and then getting it together. They got beat in Moscow week one and looked awful doing it. Now they look like an exponentially better team. I feel like we ought to win this, at home, but Sac State is improving a lot and can beat us if we have a bad game.

This one is going to be an absolute dismantling. Team is on an emotional high after going into Missoula and getting a comebacker, 1-0 in conference, decent health and it's the first game with students on campus.

I'll go with something in the order of 52-20 and that's with the brakes coming on with 10 minutes left.

I too think this will be a closer game. We are getting better but still inconsistent at times in execution. We have better talent but also a bad habit of turning the ball over and making stupid penalties.

Sac St 38

Very interested in seeing how the team responds at home after an emotional win on the road in Missoula. This is not your grandpa's Sac St. team. They look very much improved on both sides of the ball this year. I am going with a narrow win for the home team, 38-34.

As much as I'd like to see a statement made and the propensity for improving teams to still be inconsistent these guys have a QB who can spin it, they also put up 333 yards rushing on a team that held UNI to -14 the week before, and they held the BS's number one offense to 31 points. Don't be surprised if this is a battle.

Not sure if we have Jay Ti Tuili and Victor Gamboa back but they would be especially useful against this offense. IMO it is important to get on these guys early and hard, break their will to fight. If we allow them to hang around it is dangerous and makes this a riskier game than it needs to be.
The Montana game was a huge confidence builder, lets see if that carries through.

Someone on Facebook said that Tiuli was getting shoulder surgery and is done for the season. I don't know the veracity of that information, but thought I'd share.

Hope the surgery is successful. Huge Tiuli fan.

Is it too early to think about the DL with Keith Moore, Matheny and Tiuli next year in the middle? Pass the A1.

I think they will play us tough and if we have a bad game they're good enough to beat us even at home. No predictions, but I think we'll continue to see improvements from the offense.

Well that sucks. Has Keith Moore played at all this year? I don't recall seeing him on the field.
