Prediction Thread UND 20 @ EASTERN 35 Wk 5

Don't know the state of injuries or the state of mind of this Eagles team. I do know they are WAY better than the inconsistent, error machine we've seen. Can't say if the ship will right itself but am sure everyone is taking some personal responsibility for these outcomes. It's what winners do. I think the coaches aren't showing very much imagination at a minimum. Lesser teams take their key players and turn them loose to win games. Don't have any control as a fan. It's brutal. Will continue to believe this team has what it takes and will look for improvement game to game.

UND lost a lot of talent last season too. They are in flux and may not find it very easy to get up for BSC games. Not sure a slight malaise from UND will be enough for Eastern to prevail. Hate to lose this one at home.

UND 38 -- Eastern 24
Keep it handy.

Eastern has yet to play a full 60 minutes and they’ve embarrassed me twice, so..... I’ll take..... 42-30 EWU. If EB3 leads like I know he can, the Eags get their first D1 win and start Big Sky play 1-0.

My guess whoever's decision it was to start this season with a keep EB3 in pocket controled/predictible play calling for 3.5 games get's re-evaluated. Wheter it was Shoemaker bringing his offensive schemes or Best thinking this was the way to play to get us a national championship throw that shit out the window. With our D in the shape it is thus far seems to me best bet is to play how we seemed to have played in the past when we had to. We are gonna have to score pts., more pts.(and lots of em) than the other team in shootout fashion. I'm ok with that we do it well. At least that's how i see it..

 You definitely have the eyes of a Pac12 official. Hope the condition was correctable.

UND is averaging 17 points a game against the legit teams they played. Idaho was averaging 11 and managed 35, and that includes two short failed field goals. I'll take UND to go 24 above their average and hit us for 41 or more. Can we get to 50? I doubt it.

I never made predictions in the past, but I will this time since it clearly hasn't been lucky.

UND 49 Eastern 42

Hope I'm wrong, but can't see the D improving without some serious changes.

I have not watched them play this season so this is just speculation based on reputation. The fighting Sioux play more physical than the Eagles which is not too difficult at this point. Football is a physical game so this may be a difficult weekend. I do not see how a team can change and be more physical.

We need to take charge of games, every second. Winning, confident, decisive team spirit. Realistic, with some imaginative play and set calling. Better offensive blocking, keep the defense off EB3 for a few more seconds without holding, effective downfield blocking. Sure tackling, hard and decisive, especially in the opponent's backfield! NO MORE EAGLE PERSONAL PENALTIES. (Sorry, I gave up predicting after the UW game.)

Two deep is up. Keith Moore makes an appearance. Not sure if he was on the two deep last week. Ojoh and Jack Sendelbach listed as LB starters. Not much incentive to disclose injuries so we'll see when we kick off I guess.

Hopeful prediction: Eags play like the first half of JSU and the second half of Idaho and come out with a W. 35-24.

If those three guys play, I retract my prediction of Eastern losing. Anything to stop being a speed bump for another teams' offense. DT has been the biggest area of concern, but the whole DL has been alarming.

In fairness, the two backup LBs we saw last week wound up being the two best defensive players on the field. But the other 9 guys... ouch.

It looks like the team trainer got himself motivated to fix some guys... Jerome, Darreon Moore, and Wilson are listed on the two deep for the upcoming week. Hope this is accurate. Knowing Eastern's love of injuries, I doubt it is.

5dimes has opening line of EWU a 7.5 pt fav

Has Eastern even covered once this year? The lines have been pitiful, but then again, so have the results.

My wallet says no. So in the words of crappy gamblers...we're due to cover (lol).

May have to tone down my score prediction. Just looked at my phone and it says Spokane Sat. 43 degrees and rain and on Sun. snow?

 The Eags need this one! This game may be tough depending on how the Eags start out. The good news? Eastern is undefeated at home since late 2017, from an 8pt loss to Big Sky Co-Champion Weber State and earlier that year to Nation Champion North Dakota State.
Eastern plays very well at home and I don’t see our Eags falling to #25 North Dakota... I don’t. This is the pivotal game of the season and the start of Big Sky play, the season can literally “restart” here. The Eags need to put their best players on the field, START FAST and FINISH STRONG! The Eags get their first D1 win and it’s against a ranked opponent! EWU by 14!

Pooh on TV and radio! The Eagles will be on The Red, whatever the weather, poised to begin their march to the 2019 Big Sky Championship and beyond. This pivotal contest must be supported WITH our Eags, at Roos Field, not just observed on TV or heard on the radio. This Eag supporter will be hitting the road to Cheney at 0600 Saturday, rain or shine with great expectations. Go Eags!
