Whew! This one will be AWESOME! Time for EWU to step up and make a statement.

LIGHT A FIRE ON THE INFERNO!

Towson wins coin flip. :(

Gritty, in the trenches war. Look for Pulu, Zylstra, Larry, Sommer and Day to stack it up and let LB's make plays all over the field. Hamlin & Havili have HUGE games. Lee, Brown bring pressure off edge to slow down Towson running game, put pressure on Athens and create turnover's. Look for unexpected hero on D to turn tight game EWU's way-- Weatheroy??

Forgotten man Mario ignites offense with big plays catching ball out of the backfield and Shaq Hill and special teams regain '12 form giving EWU good field position throughout game. Too many weapons for Towson to stop.

EWU 31 -- Towson 17

I don't think we hold Towson to 17 points…but i still think we win.

Lay down your prediction when you get a feel for it. :) This was the hardest one I have contemplated. Am counting on a couple of TO's and moving clock based on both teams running the ball with our D keeping yd per carry below avg. and the travel finally getting to Towson.

well I think i saw they haven't scored less than 34 points in the last 14 games… i don't think our D will be the one to hold them to 17, just saying:)

41 - 31, Eags win...

First time in a few weeks I haven't predicted EWU to roll, I think Towson will be tough, but the Eags are better...

Should be a GREAT game, can't wait!

Shootouts are fun too! Going contrarian on this one.

They did only score 15 against W&M, but I totally understand your point. :thumb:

EWU - 37
Towson - 20

Forte balls out again - probably 170 on the ground
Shaq is gonna break one early to ignite the crowd

Vernon will be Vernon (not the Vernon of last week but the Vernon of all season)

And our D shuts down Towson.

For whatever reason this game just reminds me so much of the Villanova game in 2010 and that game wasn't close. Thinking it will be much the same here.

EAGS will win. However, I will wait a couple days to get a better weather forecast before I predict what the score will be. There is potential for a snow bowl.

I've watched the eags play all year, we should be favorited here. Our D has been exceptionally stout these playoffs. They live for this stuff. Likely will be close at half time in time for a 2nd half blow out. 49-35

I just hope we come out and play a good game. I feel like there isn't a team in the country that can hold our offense down when we play well with our great passing game and good running attack.

To me it is about our defense making a few stops. If Towson is held scoreless on 4 or 5 possessions we win this game. Of course that is assuming we don't get bit by the turnover bug.

My prediction is 42-31 Eags.

This is the game that two weeks ago everyone wanted instead of a road game at EIU. Looking forward to seeing our team play at their highest level win or lose. Assuming we come out and play a good game, totally agree with you that 4-5 stops go a long way to an EWU victory. Might disagree with scheme on D occasionally, never doubt the effort and VERY tired of seeing these other boards AGS/CS talking about how BAD our D is statistically. No one seems to mention our average margin of victory or that we went 8-0 in a tough conference or had one of the toughest schedules of all the playoff teams this season. The players have earned the right to completely pound the upcoming opponent (much like we did SDSU of the mighty MVC) :D This one will be an eye opener to the rest of the FCS IMO. Let 'er rip!

Last year after watching SHSU crunch MSU I was really nervous for the semi's . . . . this year after watching Towson I don't have that much of a nervous feeling. I feel they are way too much reliant on West (as they should be). We have faced enough running teams that I feel very confident and battle tested for this one. I'm not one for score predictions, but I don't think this one is close when it is all said and done (see Villanova).

GO EAGS!!

Usually the teams we have more of a challenge with is the SHSU type of offense. And when Portland start pulled out every trick play possible we get tricked. It seems to me our guys are reacting too quickly to reads and when there is an option or trick we are not in position. It does not look to me like Towson does much of that. We will not stop West but if we hold him to around 100 yds it puts a lot of pressure on their passing game. Without their entire offense playing at maximum potential I do not believe they can keep up our offense.
We were 1 fumble and 1 int in the end zone from a blow out last week. I doubt that will happen this week. But as coach has been saying all season we just need to worry about being 1-0 this week.

Can't turn it over in the Red Zone. See this playing out like Mont State. One or two stops in the 2nd half will be the difference.
