Preparing for New Enforcement Approach

Scoring in the NCAA last season reached its lowest point since 1981, and in response the NCAA is cracking down on physical play to try to open up the court. This Sporting News story does a good job of putting it all in perspective. Bottom line: if the leagues are serious about enforcing this approach, there could be a LOT of fouls called early in the season, as teams adjust to the new philosophy.

Wow! Toughest part for coaches is knowing how strictly these will be enforced. Don't really wanna change the way you've taught defense for years and years if you're not for SURE that these rules will be changed how they're saying.

It appears the refs are serious about this.

Xavier's scrimmage last week produced 60 fouls called.

Louisville's exhibition game over the weekend saw the lower division team that was playing them put UL in the bonus situation....TWO AND A HALF MINUTES INTO THE GAME!

The first half of Lousiville's game took over an hour to play by itself!
