Wow. Seems to be a regular thing over there.

It might be nice if two starting corners were out of the lineup against a passing attack... However, it seems that the discipline has been dealt with unless the legal system intervenes.

And here the carefully worded, insightful, and differentiated reaction by a representative Griz fan...

The Kaimin is the BIGGEST PIECE OF...(Rated R)

Shit ever. Try a little class. As a student, I am insulted that they would tear down their peers in the way they did today. They presented a story totally one-sided and did not even take the time to get a confrimation from the police reports. They author of the story said they have a right to know about the ongoings of players lives. That is bullshit. If it had become a legal issue then yes, they would have acess to it, but otherwise it is none of their f**k[*] business. Why would any of us have a right to know about another students f**k[*] if they were not a legal matter. I am just flat out disgusted by the lack of class. Perhaps the reason hauck told you he had already addressed that question four f**k[*] times was becasue he DID. The kaimin author just got pissy and had a little freak out, what a d-bag. Instead of this matter being handeled, it is now plastered all over the university that the Griz football players are trash and that these two are thugs. Oh sure, every now and then they threw in the saying, "these are just allegations" that is their piss pore attempt to cover their asses. Allegations do not get 3 stories on the front page about them, perhaps they shoudl have waited to get some factual information. THE f**k[*] VICTIM HIMSELF says he thinks the punishment was adaquate, so drop the issue Kaimin. And lastely, and most important to this, they got this story on Tuesday, yet they wait until Friday, the day before our game, to drop this story. YOU ARE THE BIGGEST PIECES OF SHIT AND YOU ALL COULDN'T WRITE FOR A f**k[*] TABLOID.

I would guess he/she is probably a English major from U of M. Great use of language.

University of Montana Football Coach Under Fire
The UM student newspaper uncovers the latest incident involving violent off-the-field behavior by football players - and gets some verbal abuse in return.

http://www.newwest.net/city/article/university_of_montana_football_coach_under_fire/C8/L8/

The University of Montana student newspaper, the Montana Kaimin, on Friday reported that two football players were involved in an assault on another student last March, and that Coach Bobby Hauck swept the incident under the rug. The alleged assault is the latest in a long series of incidents involving violent off-the-field behavior by members of the UM football team.

The Kaimin also reported that when a reporter asked for comment about the incident, Hauck said: “You’re done for the day, and you’ll be done for the season if you keep bugging me about this thing that I’ve answered four f***ing times.” The two players allegedly knocked a student unconscious and kicked him in the face following an altercation at a party; they were held out of one game this season, but otherwise apparently faced no sanctions.

In a furious editorial, Kaimin sports editor Roman Stubbs called the allegations involving the two players “disturbing, sickening, alarming,” and denounced Hauck for building a “wall of silence” around the incident and refusing to take responsibility or hold anyone accountable. “A college football coach should never be blamed for isolated incidents,” Stubbs wrote. “But when accusations form a pattern, then not only do the upstanding Griz players become stigmatized, but so does this school, this city and this state. It becomes embarassing. And it falls on the commander in chief.”

UM football spokesman Dave Guffey said in an email to NewWest.Net: “We have no comment on this matter.”

Wow........

This kind of stuff spreads like wild fire. Regardless if its true or false.

Sure sounds like problems in Missoula. I can't remember anything like that ever happening to PSU athletes. Well, there was that one time when a couple of basketball players had a little misunderstanding in Mexico that turned into potential attempted homicide charges, but who hasn't had something like that happen at some point in their life?

The difference is that the two PSU players were never even formally accused. They were held in custody because of a vague suspicion and later freed without charges. In fact, there were never any charges at any time.

An Oklahoma fan here...hm. Sorry about Bradford's misfortunes at the beginning of this season. Sure hope he'll recover fast.
