Vikings athletes seek improvement in strength and conditioning during off-season

In all honesty, I thought that the men's basketball team came in stronger this year that any season since Heath's last season here. To hear that they are even more focused on off season workouts is very encouraging.

Funny that the comparison between PSU and Kansas was used to drive off season workouts.

The Kansas team last year probably makes a couple of NBA teams look like they need to hit the weight room. ;-)

Outside of Huff, I think everybody on the team last year needed a lot of work in the weight room. Hopefully the forwards and centers really put in some work and get themselves physically ready to win the Big Sky again.

Really? Mara and Coston (still needs to bulk) both looked stronger last year than the year prior. Add to that Thomas who played very strong in the paint. Morrison be Morrison, he got his job done more on his size during his career here more than his strength.

Absolutely. I think Mara may have looked more muscular, but certainly played a lot less physically inside than his freshman year. He became a wing, which wasn't what the Vikings needed. That's why he ended up on the bench half way through the season. As for Coston, he made a small improvement. However, he still plays more like a small forward than a power forward. The Viks need him to become a power player if they want to match up with better teams and make up for their lack of height at center. Thomas was great inside, but didn't improve much in my eyes from his freshman campaign.
