PSU is a 16 seed and plays Kansas

Ouch, tough draw... But, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

A look at the positive: This is your chance to forever be listed in the history of NCAA Hoops as the first #16 to ever beat a #1...

I like the way you think pilotnut

16 seed, that's complete crap, but forestgreeen makes a good point.... i was expecting no worse than a 15 seed. They must not have been very impressed with the OOC schedule. Good luck guys

We loss by a point to Colorado State and San Jose St in overtime. If the Viks won those games, not only is our record better, but for sure we get a better seed. I don't think it matters that much, we were going to play a very good team no matter what. Now let's practice hard and give Kansas the best game we can give them and see were it takes us.

Extremely tough break for the Vikings.

Tough break, indeed. From the looks of it though, you guys are one TOUGH 16. And you hit the treys at a pretty respectful clip, which gives you a puncher's chance. This Jayhawk fan looks foward to playing you.

So...educate me on your team, I don't know a whole lot about you guys yet. Style? Strengths? Weaknesses?

Another Jayhawk in the house

look forward to the match up on thurs.

Yep, any victory would be amazing. But since this Division 1 basketball program is only 12 years old, the most important thing is the national attention we are getting now. The question of victory or defeat is quite secondary.

That said, bring it on, Jayhawks! Go Viks!

Portland State Basketball is only 12 years old? Hard to believe! That's just as old as the USF Bulls FB program

Your hoops program is only 12 years old and you're already in the Big Dance? Damn, that's impressive. I think you already WON your national championship. That would be excuse enough for ME to go out and tie one on. LOVE Portland Brewing Company beers, by the way.

The program was dropped for some 10-15 years and then restarted in 1996 when PSU joined the Big Sky Conference. Our biggest claim to fame is a player named Freeman Williams, who once scored 81 points in a single before the three point, around 1977 or 1978. Also, current NBA player Ime Udoka of the San Antonio Spurs is from Portland State Go Viks!

Well, 12 years in D1. As forestgreen says, long time ago there was another program. At the Big Sky final there were some old guys in the audience fiercly telling the camera that their 1967 team was much better and stuff. /users/31/07/37/smiles/595146.gif
