'nuff said. We only saw the pistol on a couple of drives and it looked hapless. They'd do better as a pro-style drop-back team. When they finally got around to moving theb all on us, it was all through the air by spreading the field and finding gaps in the zone. That pistol bit was a complete waste of time for them.

I think losing their QB early threw a wrench in their offense.

The pistol is very dependent on the QB to provide a run/throw threat.

Whatever happened to that Hubel kid who lit us up for almost 600 yards in 2008? They benched him at the end of last season and he must've either transferred or got dropped to 3rd string.

I didn't even notice that they used two QBs. I thought #14 started the game and played all the way through. He threw the ball well... Their very first series was done out of a spread; they didn't show the pistol until their second series of the game.

It's funny you should mention Hubel, the whole time I was watching the game, I was thinking it was the guy that threw for all those yards back in 2008. He's still on their roster as a 3rd string senior.

Glanville definitely had his faults, but he was good at recruiting QB's for the run and shoot. Mouse Davis might have had something to do with that. It's going to take Burton some time to get the personell he wants to run the pistol, but I think over time it will succeed for him. It makes it tougher for Big Sky defenses to have to prepare for a different look.

I think Kavanaugh went down on the first series. I missed it as I was at a HS tie-breaker contest and missed the first quarter.

Agree with flyingnail though, the difference was our D. They've stepped up big stopping the run all year. This performance was possibly more impressive given how beat up they were. The good news is I think many of those injuries will heal up nicely over the next two weeks, and the team can get into playoff mode a little more healthy.
