Don't give up on the season yet. Watching the game was heart breaking. It was hard not to dread the coming season. However, after watching the game again back home there are some bright spots.
- We played against possibly the best Dline in the Pac12. Our Oline didn't do that bad of a job. Sure we got beat badly on some plays but we also came back and had some good blocking. Our two FBS transfers got beat just as bad as our core guys did at times. That UW defense is good. Their #99 is going to cause havoc with PAC12 opponents this year...just like he did with us.
- Figure out how to make some smarter decisions with the ball and secure it better...we would have had much closer games with both of the FBS teams we played. Discipline and decision making are easier to solve than if we didn't have capable athletes.
- Defense got stung but we also at times showed some strong play. It's not as if their offense just rolled over us all day. They have a really good running back. If we can get back to the basics of wrapping up and tackling we could make stops in our conference.
The bottom-line is that this weeks game will truly tell us what the season is going to look like. So Utah is a true test. I actually feel cautiously optimistic about our chances. The season starts now. Go Viks...
