Folks this is March...our team has packed it up. Same thing every game. Weber makes a great run by running and then we slow it down. squandered opportunities!! OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. This team is a HUGE disappointment.
Agreed on all counts. If we aren't dancing a week from today, it may be time for an avatar change.

I keep hoping we are a good team prone to lapses; but we are really a below average team with moments of real good basketball. We looked like The November version of this team tonight, stumbling into the tourney. Hard not to be thinking about who we will play as a #8 seed in the NIT right now. (at Utah)

This loss falls on the seniors.... Gittens needs to be inserted back into Richards spot... He has been terrible....

The similarities between Gittens and Wheelwright are eery. Sometimes, he shows flashes of brilliance, but more often than not, he's a black hole once he drives to the basket. His shooting percentage actually isn't bad, but I don't think I've seen him take a clean shot (other than beyond the arc) this season. It's always some turnover-prone acrobatic crap, like floating tear drops. I'm shocked Randy has tolerance for his sloppy play on offense.

Biggest difference is that Gittens is a freshman and is prone to those types of TOs. He will only get better. Wheels was going to be a JR this season, and who knows how good he would have ended up being. We gotta remember that Gittens is 19 and that Wheels was only a sophomore. To me, the biggest reason why Weber has struggled this season is because Wheels was kicked off the team in September. He was injured between his Fresh and Soph season, and that could have really affected his athletic development. I saw him in this summer, and he was really coming along. In rat ball games, only Berry could stop him and he could stop Berry. That says something. To me he would have been far better this season, since he was able to spend the entire off season preparing. I think Gittens would have really progressed with a red-shirt season, but that is me.

That was a tough one to watch. The last two games I have really enjoyed watching Gittens. The dude is super athletic and aggressive, and has been playing very well for us. Pretty much the only reason we were in the last two games was because of him and Davion. Will Gittens be as good or better than Davion his Sr Year? Barry seems to be a better ball handler and shooter right now, but Gittens should be able to get to the hoop just as much as Barry and seems to be a bit more gifted athletically -- You don't see Barry dunk like Gittens does.

One last thought, even though this team has 4 seniors, it is probably the youngest team (in terms of who is on the court usually) that Rahe has ever coached. There are times when Rahe is forced to play 3 frosh, 1 soph, and 1 Sr for extended periods. While I'm not totally satisfied with how this team has always performed, I am quite pleased with how such a young group competes with all the teams in the conference. (and lets not forget became big sky regular season champions) Weber has a bright future ahead of them for sure.

And let's not forget We are hosting! It's going to be a lot of fun to watch all the games next week! Maybe it is because my confidence in this group to get it done is waning some that I am so excited to see how the whole thing works out. I also love that no matter what happens in the tourney, we will be able to watch it all. It's crazy to think that just about any 2 teams could be in the championship game on Saturday. Let's all just pray to the golden gods of Dew that one of them is Weber!

One of the teams had better be Weber Saturday, and I shutter to think that the Grizz are looking like they are grabbing a share of the title. I'm so tired of Weber falling short!

"Same old situation" very fitting for this team. In adition to their continual struggles of being taken out of the game they want to play by the zone and press, they can't seem to get a handle on the turnovers. I haven't looked but have they lost the turnover battle in most of their games? I'd like to think it's due to the youthfulness but it's more than that, Berry, JR, and Fulton(when he ever plays) are big contributors to the TOs.

One last frustration: is a mid-range jumpshot not in Rahe's repitwair(sp?) or do we not have the players for it, or what? The three isn't always gonna fall; our bigs aren't always gonna be able to get it done in the paint; the next time Gittens gets stuck driving and/or getting in the air is too many times-- Weber is sorely missing a mid-range jumper option.

It's in the repertoire of many of our players. JR has a great pull-up, and we've seen Gittens and Hill execute as well. I don't remember seeing it, but I would also trust Bolomboy to step out and make that move. The problem is that Rahe wants an outside game, and if he can't have it we drive out-of-control to the rim. And it has to be in the hands of Berry! Every F***ing play has to go through Berry! If we couldn't trust our young guys to employ their abilities this season, why do we expect anything different next season? Do we blame next season on the idea that "we're a young team?" We've got a solid, young player in Fuller, who's seen a different system in UofU, and knows how to play inside and out. But Rahe never really gave him a chance this season. Royce also has more to give the program, but I think he plays too up-tempo for the current (falling apart) system. Berry has tried to put the team on his back, but they should all be taking responsibility for a full 40 minutes every game, not just 1 guy for the last 3 minutes. The seniors have disappointed me this season. The system (Rahe) has disappointed me this season. I wish winning the conference championship didn't feel so worthless. :pissed:

Or maybe I'm wrong, and Rahe and this class of seniors are as good as it gets for the 'Cats.
