QB update

Coach B will use the talents each QB brings. He didn't hesitate to change things up with Padron and Adams and he won't hesitate this fall. With this early schedule, more than one QB is likely. Like West's big arm, value accuracy more. Regardless, the WR's will make plays and the line play should be solid.

Intrigued to see how the TE's will be used in the passing and running game. I think we have some "tough" guys playing there and want to see the physicality they could add this season.

I'm sure they will which would be good for West Tennessee and government.t friend.ue accuracy more. Regardless, the WR's will make plays and the line play should be solid.

Totally agree. I watched the TE's in the Red White scrimmage and was very impressed with their physicality. I just remember thinking that I wouldn't want to tackle them after they caught the ball. They will be huge in our play-action-passing game and the running game. A solid running game and good TE play can be a young quarterback's best friend. So, let's hope our TE's show up to the party this year and I'm sure they will. If they do it could mean even bigger and better things for West/Hennessey/Gubrud.

go eags!

GROUND&POUND,
Haven't seen much going on outside, however, spoke to University Police they have been doing 7 on 7, kind of early in the am due to the heat. Saw some of the Players on the field at times, just playing catch. It have been very hot here as in California. Saw o the news a few days ago, they stated in another 15 years this area and parts of the West Coast, we could be in an (ICE AGE), which will put me at 95 YOA, should I survive. ;). There is something going on in the new lot. Many big long trucks have been going to the rear of the lot dumping much stuff. Will have to do little investigative work :o . See you soon. Vic Wallace

Scoring points will not be a problem this year. Can the defense be average? If that's the case, EWU will win the BSC and get a couple home games in the playoffs.

In terms of the BSC, I fully expect the Cats to have their typical November Choke.

EWU still has the best coaching staff in the conference.

True dat.

It'll be interesting to see what the new guy in Missoula can do. I've heard he's one of those guru types... and those type of guys tend either be spectacular or total busts.

A guru would have won more games and likely not have coached a DII team for 15 years.

Careful with that. I consider Baldwin a Guru and some might make the same argument with him in reference to FCS/1AA. I think for a lot of coaches it's more about being in the right situation more than what level they're coaching at. IIRC, that Stitt guy had a really good DII program.

That said...I don't expect Montana to make some sort of big splash this year with a first year coaching staff.

He coached at a very high academic engineering school. That tends to limit the type of athlete you can recruit. He will not have those same limits at Montna.

Speaking of coaches I just found out Cal Poly hired former EWU player Allen Brown as an assistant DB coach. If he can coach as well as he could play we will be very fortunate.

Stitt will have a way better situation with way more resources than Baldwin did coming to Eastern.

Maybe Stitt was happy at Colorado School of Mines and that was why he stayed 15 years. This will be Baldwin's 8th season at EWU. I don't think he will be here for 15 years.

But Baldwin is in a way better situation now at Eastern than when he first came.
