QB's

Throwing in practice is very different than throwing in a game when your O-line sucks and the defense is bearing down on you. Downing knows he is in deep trouble, you have to think that if another QB gave him a better chance at winnning he would go with it.

Interesting point. During our game, I thought Waggener telegraphed everything he threw, was limited by his lack of mobility, and stuck on his primary receiver too long. When you brought in Orms (sp ?), he was exciting and a breath of fresh air. Granted, you scored the TD late against us, but it was against our first string defense and you can bet they were trying their damnedest to throw a shut out. Yet Orms marched the Bears all the way down and scored. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, but with the way your season is going, why not go ahead and make the switch and use it to build upon for the future? Waggener is a senior and won't be back; Orms is a sophomore and very well may be the future of your team. Time to make the switch and get Orms acclimated to game speed.

I don't think the problem is Waggener. He's a good QB but the offensive line is horrible. It's too hard to compare the Orms and Waggs. Orms is a dangerous runner with a quick first step. Waggs is a pro-style qb with a big arm and decent accuracy.

Which one gives us more of a chance to win? Neither until the offensive line improves.

Considering the lack of pass protection, maybe a switch to a more mobile QB would be beneficial... I say give it a shot, Orms will in all likelihood be out there next year, why not give him a shot.
