See the temps will be in the low 30's this week. Know the Aggies fans think this is cold. Was just remembering the quarterfinal against Richmond and believe the temps were in the teens. I know my wife and I were in attendance, completely layered, wool everything and two sleeping bags and I couldn't feel my feet for about a week afterwards. Now that was cold. Interestingly, we ran into the father of the center for Richmond at the airport the next day and he couldn't believe how Eastern had dismantled the Spiders in that game. Want to say Rocco announced the move to Delaware shortly afterwards too. Even with injuries on D, am feeling this good about the Eags this week. I think having seen Davis recently works just as much in Eastern's favor. Eastern hasn't played down to any competition this season and isn't about to start.
If I was Hawkins knowing the DL is going to get pressure would get the ball out to the egde quickly and try to create man on man situations for his athletes, leave the back in to block on slower developing plays and attack the edge with the running game. Eastern should light it's hair and fire and overload the pressure on some downs and drop into mixed zones after faking a pre-snap blitz look and run base man with over/under on Doss. Eastern is more than good enough to play straight base and still win this game.
Of course playing heads up early and tackling across the body will eliminate extra yards and "make them work" for first downs. Davis is likely to get theirs early unless Eastern can start causing TO's right off the bat and put Davis behind the eight ball on the scoreboard. If that happens it's Katie bar the door. #LeaveNoDoubt
